Today’s apology to the indigenous people of Australia, particularly the Stolen Generations, was profoundly moving in its sincerity and the breadth of issues it covered. I am so very proud of Australia today.

Here, here. (pity about Brendan)
The Doctor really did seem out of his depth today. Although, at least he bothered to show up, unlike the Member for Indi.
Sophie’s gone to ground I’d say. I can’t wait until she shows her face at some public reception around here – I reckon she’ll get a real surprise. The abuser is likely to become the abusee.
Yes, Sophie is unfortunate. On a more positive note, and it’s rare that I can say this; the media did a really positive job on the coverage. Surprising when you think of all of the other stories that could have been tied in such as the argument that this now means our tax dollars will go to pay compensation, that it happened to white kids, they are better off because of it or any other argument raised in the Doctors speech.
I’m sure that will be next week’s news.
As much as it pains me to say…K-Rudd’s speech was outstanding. Nelson’s speech was appalling…
Alex, my thoughts exactly on the merits of the respective speeches.
Lee, I agree the media in general did a great job but did you read the editorial in our only daily here, The Border Mail?
If not, and if it’s OK with Dave, I give you this link:
