After eight years….

December 15, 2008

By now most of you will have seen the video of a journalist finally showing some gumption and treating US President George W Bush in the manner he deserves. In case you haven’t, here is it.

But I think you’ll agree that it’s ten times better if you watch it like this.*

Hey, did you see how long it took for the bodyguards to crawl into action … so much for taking a bullet for the president!

Dave, journalist Muntadhar al-Zeidi showed highly commendable restraint. I mean, it was only shoes. ;)

The infidel behind the lectern didn’t even recognize the significance of the shoes.

What a pity it wasn’t the infamous ‘shoe-bomber’ throwing his shoes. At least Bush would have gone out with a bang, instead of a whimper.

And now it seems that al-Zaidi is in US detention and suffering from broken ribs and internal bleeding, whilst the big brave uncle sam espouses that his appropriate punishment must be decided by the Iraqi government. Heroes, one and all.

Probably copping and extra severe beating for catching Bush’s minders with their pants down around their ankles.

So much for Iraq’s liberation eh? I hope that shoe throwing becomes a form of protest that follows Bush for the rest of his life.
