Buster Boy’s Big Adventure

by Dave from Albury

There is an air of expectation hanging around the Dave from Albury Compund today. A few weeks ago Buster Boy had his fifth birthday and today he finally receives his present, a trip to Sydney to see the Star Wars exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum. It’ll be a day of firsts for Buster Boy, he’ll finally get to take a ride on one of the planes that pass overhead each day, it’ll be his first ride on a train and even more excitingly, he’ll get to see that there’s more to Sydney than the M7 and Campbelltown McDonalds.

For me, this is one of the first significant father and son things that we have done and I’m really excited about it. Mrsdave and I are hoping that this will be an experience that stays with Buster Boy for much longer than the average plastic toy would, and thus far the pre-trip excitement has been much greater than the attention paid to the various Christmas gifts which have lost their novelty.

The next few days are going to be amazing, and I just can’t wait to share it all with my boy.

That sounds bloody awesome, Dave. I’m sure you’ll both have a brilliant day.

So you’re feeding Buster Boy on your dreams then, Dave?

Just remember, Bondi beach and the harbour are (wait for it) SHARK INFESTED!

Whatever you do, don’t go through Hyde Park.

Enjoy your trip to Sydney. Sounds lovely.

Just take the kid fishing. Cheaper.

No, take him to Melbourne where he’ll learn more about sophisticated culture. Sydney might turn him gay!
