Michael Stipe comes out

The Age reports that REM front man Michael Stipe has come out of the closet in the hopes of “helping a kid somewhere”. While this is a noble and no doubt altruistic action by Mr Stipe I think that it is somewhat diminished by the fact that there is documentary evidence that he’s not actually gay.

Does he actually expect us all to forget that he can’t dance?

  1. Whilst we are stereotyping – It’s not just that he can’t dance, the dude can’t write a lyric that makes sense. “I’m pushing an elephant up the stairs, I’m throwing out punch lines that were never there”. What the fuck is that? A gay guy would have sung “I’m putting a throw-rug over on that chair, It smells like lavender and is made from mohair” He ain’t snapping his fingers and calling everyone sister. The guy’s as gay Vinnie Barbarino.

Lee, did you come up with those lyrics all by yourself?

Is there something you want to be sharing with us?

  3. REM front man Michael Stipe has come out of the closet….

    …and admitted that he’s really a no-talent alien.

BTW, it’s been obvious that guy is as gay as a mardi gras since his first miserable appearance on MTV.

  4. Barbarino wasn’t gay. If any one was gay it was Horshack.

I think Ray hit it on the head. He’s obviously been gay since he first appeared. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought Tom Hanks modelled his Philadelphia character on Stipe.

And Mrsdave; it was Mr Dave that pashed Ross….

  5. Oh, and regarding Vinnie Barbarino, type “john travolta is gay”, inverted commas and all, into google. Mrsdave spent last night absolutely shattered by the results, it’s like Grease was really a lie all this time.

  6. I thought Mr Stipe had come out years ago. I knew he was gay, and I don’t usually pay much attention to these things.
